Seekers donates $1000 to Share the Dignity’s fight against period poverty.
As part of our ongoing program to give back to our community, Seekers has proudly supported Share the Dignity in July with a $1,000 donation made on behalf of you, our clients.
Share the Dignity works to make a real, on the ground difference in the lives of those experiencing homelessness, fleeing domestic violence, or doing it tough. When someone is experiencing these circumstances, the last thing on their mind should be dealing with their period.
Share the Dignity assists those in need by collecting period products each year through collection drives and campaigns, which are distributed directly to charities across Australia and into the hands of those who need these products.
Innovative thinking and passion are the driving forces behind the organisation’s initiatives. Twice a year in March and August, the organisation runs Dignity Drives with collection points in all Woolworths stores and a number of other nominated businesses across the country. At the end of the collection, thousands of packets of unopened period products are donated to partner charities to help women and people with periods doing it tough.
In addition, the organisation has developed The Dignity Vending Machine that dispenses a FREE period pack which has six tampons and two pads in it. The machine is there to help women, girls and those who menstruate. Share the Dignity purchase and supply the specially made packs in the vending machine or otherwise known as the #pinkbox.
