In practice for 20 years as both a qualified medicines prescribing Optometrist with a Masters Degree and experienced Optical Dispenser.

Jayson is an active member of Optometry Australia and his professional interests include general optometry, contact lens fitting and glaucoma management.

When not consulting you may spot Jayson enjoying a coffee or two in a local cafe or walking his much loved dog Foxtrot around the streets of Fitzroy.

Kenny Chua

Retail Manager & Curator

Kenny, our solutions focused, fun-loving and fashion forward retail manager and frame curator is ready to help you find your newest frames at Seekers. With eight year’s experience in optics, Kenny has a deep understanding of eye care and eyewear and will be able to facilitate the best possible outcomes for you at Seekers.

Kenny also speaks Mandarin and Bahasa, so if you’re a native speaker or you’d like to brush up on your skills, come and have a coffee and chat with Kenny.

Kye O'Donnell

Lab Manager & Technician

With a passion for precision, Kye is a qualified optical dispenser and member of Optical Dispensers Australia. His meticulous skills in cutting and fitting lenses in Seekers' on-site lab ensure that all clients receive the best outcomes with their new eyewear, all without leaving the practice. Kye is also the go-to person for repairing and restoring beloved frames, breathing new life into cherished eyewear pieces.

Beyond his technical abilities, Kye is a strong advocate for Seekers' commitment to social and environmental responsibility. He actively supports the team in maintaining the practice's B Corp certification, ensuring that ethical and sustainable practices are at the core of everything Seekers does.

Kye is also Seekers' dedicated express delivery rider and can be seen cycling around town, personally delivering urgent eyewear orders to clients.

Ryan Magart

Stylist & Eyewear Consultant

Ryan brings a Cert IV in Optical Dispensing and a genuinely people-first approach to every conversation at Seekers. With a background spanning optical retail, dispensing, and clinical operations, Ryan has the technical knowledge and the warmth to guide you through every step of finding your perfect frames – whether you're navigating a complex prescription or simply searching for a style that feels like you.

Beyond the showroom, Ryan's commitment to eyewear extends further than most. He has volunteered with Optical Dispensers Australia, travelling to remote villages in Fiji to conduct eye tests and give glasses to those in need.

Outside Seekers, you'll often find Ryan at Barry's Bootcamp working up an appetite, a wine bar spending it, somewhere overseas being inspired, or at home gaming, all while completing a Bachelor of Commerce. A fabulous life of very intentional contradictions.

At Seekers, weʼre committed to closing the gap on both optical waste and inaccessible eyewear. Seekers Impacts is our program that encompasses our commitments to our community and environment. We continually increase the scope of Seekers Impacts implementing new environment-first practices to reduce the negative effects of optical waste and reduce the global footprint of the optical industry.

Our Current Programs:

• Donate your old frames to someone in need through our partnership with Lions Recycle for Sight and weʼll provide you with a discount to use on new frames at Seekers to say thank you!
• Love your existing frames? Fit them with your new prescription and youʼll save 20% off the new lenses.
• Join our contact lens recycling program and feel good about stopping contact lens waste in its tracks. Weʼll recycle your contact lenses and packaging for you – pick up your handy contact lens recycling pouch from our Gertrude Street practice.

Sustainability and social impact have always been in our sightline and as of July 2023, this philosophy has now been recognised with our official B Corp Certification.

Receiving a B Corp Certification is independent acknowledgement that a business is contributing positively to society and implements sustainable practices into their operation.

Seekers Supports is our ongoing commitment to give back to community causes who need our help. Each quarter we donate $1,000 on behalf of our clients to a cause that has been selected by our clients. We're proud to have supported organisations such Minus18, VAHS, The Fred Hollows Foundation and Guide Dogs Victoria to name a few.
